PIÑATEX | Author: Carmen Hijosa | Location/Year: London, Philippines / 2013.

Developed over seven years of R&D by Ananas Anam in Philippines, Piñatex is an innovative natural textile made from pineapple leaf fibre, extracted though a process of decortication made at the plantation. The textile is distributed to designers as a sustainable alternative to leather and other synthetic materials.
